360° Alta Val Venosta: Source of the Adige - San Valentino

General description
The tour starts at the source of the Adige river, the hike leads along the Venosta Valley high trail, past the Altgraun church tower and on to St. Valentin.
Route description
The tour starts at the source of the Adige, the source of Italy's second longest river. Worth seeing is the bunker, which was built at the source of the Adige and dug into the rock. The trail leads along the Venosta Valley High Mountain Trail (trail number 1), which is symbolically marked with a red footprint. Passing the bunker, the trail leads below the parking lot of the Reschen sports field in the direction of "Klopair". Crossing the "Klopairhöfe" farms, a picturesque panorama of the lake backdrop opens up with the Ortler on the horizon. Continue over the "Salgbögen" arches to the "Altgrauner" church tower in the lake, the most striking sight in the Vinschgau Valley. When the reservoir was built in 1950, the village of "Graun" and parts of "Reschen" were flooded. Today, only the tower in the lake bears witness to the submerged villages. Following the lake promenade, the trail continues towards "St. Valentin". Immediately after reaching the first section of forest at the fisherman's hut, an underpass leads us further into the Innertalai forest, which ultimately takes us to St. Valentin. The stage ends here on the main road at the bus stop St. Valentin, Feuerwehr.
